Josh Templer – Content Director: On event day, manages all content capture
and creation.  UHF ch7

Blitz Event Staff 

  • Master of Ceremonies – located on the Stadium Hole to present the event.  

  • Big Screen Technician – manages the presentation of player, event and sponsorship information as required to the Big Screen.  UHF ch7

  • Data Centre Technician – manages the flow of scoring information from players and updates the Blitz Golf App. UHF ch7.

  • Blitzy the official mascot of Blitz Golf.

Volunteer Staff

  • Rules Official x 1.  Blitz Golf request that the host venue provide a Rules Official to deal with any rulings during the Event.  The Blitz Golf COO’s word is final on any rules disputes, and he will be available throughout the event as required. 

  • Scoring volunteers x 6 (minimum).  Each Scoring Volunteer manages a group of players.  They direct the group to their starting tee, ensure players complete their scores on the Blitz Golf App as soon as each hole is complete, and act as our eyes and ears on the course for any problems with scoring, rules, pace of play and event continuity.  Each Scoring Volunteer carries a UHF radio to report any problems and to be available to event operations as necessary. 

  • MC Communications Assistant x 1.  The MC Comms Asst works directly with and in support of the MC to gather event information to provide to the MC as he informs the Stadium Hole crowd of event progress.  The MC asst also gathers data from the Stadium Hole Comms Asst to facilitate the MC’s announcement of each player as they play the Stadium Hole

  • Stadium Hole Assistant x 1.  The Stadium Hole Assistant is positioned on the Stadium Hole Tee throughout the event.  They provide player information to the

  • MC Comms Assistant before each player tees off on the Stadium Hole, to allow the MC to inform the crowd of who’s teeing off and their position in the event.

  • Ticket Checkers x 2.  Two Volunteers are positioned at the entry point/s to ensure spectators have a ticket, or to direct them to where they can purchase. 

Notes

  • Blitz Golf will provide volunteer information/Standard Operating Procedures to all volunteers ahead of the event.  Blitz Golf will also set up an Event WhatsApp channel ahead of the event for any volunteers to ask questions before the event. From experience – the earlier that volunteers are appointed and allocated their roles, the better the event will run on event day. 

  • Blitz Golf App.  The BG App is available for all volunteers to download.  This should be downloaded and a login established before event day.

THE SCHEDULE

PRE-EVENT

  • 11:00 Blitz Golf & Host Venue Operations Alignment Meeting

  • 12:00 MC Final Briefing with BG.  MC will have been briefed ahead of event day. 

  • 12:00 Volunteer Briefing.

  • 13:00 Gates open.  The DJ commences his set.  All on course facilities to be open.

THE EVENT

  • 14:45 Call all players to the DJ station.

    • Fan briefing to Introduce Blitz Golf format - 24 players/6 holes shotgun start, from which Top 12 will advance to play 3 holes and then from Round 2, 4 players will advance to a sudden death final. The format, hole layout and starting groups are on our big screen so do check it out.

    • Its high energy, no need to be quiet. Its the T-20 of Golf with pros, celebs and fans going to head-to-head for a winner takes all purse. Its a format where EVERY SHOT MATTERS and built for maximum fan engagement.

    • For live scoring throughout the day checkout the big screen but also download the Blitz Golf App and take it around the course.

    • And don’t forget to follow Blitz Golf on socials.

    • We do like to keep fans engaged and there will be opportunities to compete for prizes throughout the event. Listen out for these.

    • Blitzy the Mascot will be first out to get the show started and then we will call the players through one by one as their names are on the big screen. Await music cue and Blitzy being ready and signal from Events Team that players are ready.

    • Each VIP gets to select who they would like to have a NTP against from the feature Group.

    • Semi-Final 1 and Semi-Final 2. The 2 winners of the NTPs then go head to head and the winner will receive a bottle of premium wine thanks to fine wine specialist Wine Bracketz.

  • 15:00 Round 1 commences - 6 holes / 24 players.  

    • Inform crowd of groups and hole numbers

    • Reminder of format - 24 players/6 holes - Top 12 advance

    • Any ties to work out who advances will be resolved by NTP

    • App/Big Screen for leaderboard - green dot means above the cut line, yellow means they are in the playoff and red means they are going to be cut. Make sure you download the Blitz Golf App.

    • During the round, thanks to Shell On The Run if any player makes a birdie on the Stadium Hole then someone will be pulled from the crowd to have 1 putt from 24”. If they sink it they win the Jackpot purse which starts at $300 thanks to it not going off in Perth and Adelaide; and it goes up by $100 for every birdie made.

    • Call the players as they are about to tee off; and talk to players as they walk to green.

  • 16:20 Call any players for tiebreaker (yellow dots) to Shootout area. Shootout to occur after activation. Players will be ready.

  • 16:22 After completion of Round 1, Weekend Warriors Activation.

    • Three pre-determined Club Blitzers (by Weekend Warriors) will compete in a putting race. The winner will get a $100 voucher thanks to the Weekend Warriors Apparel.

  • 16:25 How many birdies in Round 1. Pick x number of people from crowd to putt for the Shell On The Run Jackpot.

  • 16:28 Round 1 NTP with any players with a yellow dot - tied on cut-line.

  • 16:30 Round 2 commences - 3 holes / 12 players.  

    • Inform crowd of groups and hole numbers

    • Reminder of format - 12 players/3 holes - Top 4 advance. Scores have reset and we start again.

    • Any ties to work out who advances will be resolved by NTP

    • App/Big Screen for leaderboard - green dot means above the cut line, yellow means they are in the playoff and red means they are going to be cut. Make sure you download the Blitz Golf App.

  • 17:40 Final commences - 1 hole / 4 players

    • Reminder of format - 4 players/1 hole - Scores have reset. If there are any players tied, they will play the hole again in its entirety.

    • If after 2 attempts anyone is still tied, its an NTP from the Stadium Hole Tee to determine the champion.

    • Call the players as they are about to tee off; and talk to players as they walk to green.

  • 18:00 Winner presented with Trophy.

    • MC to Interview winner on the Stadium hole.
