BLITZ GOLF STAGES ITS FIRST EVENT OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA TO ITS HIGHEST-EVER FIRST-EVENT CROWD, AS DP WORLD TOUR STARS, SPORTING LEGENDS AND CELEBRITIES LIGHT UP AN ELECTRIC DEBUT ON ENGLISH SOIL.
The CaddyComps Blitz Golf England Series roared into life yesterday with a record-breaking debut, marking Blitz Golf’s first-ever event outside Australia and a major milestone in the format’s global growth. The new venue drew the highest attendance ever recorded for a first Blitz Golf event, with an incredible atmosphere and a setup that had fans on the edge of their seats from the opening tee shot to the final putt.
The star-studded field underlined the event’s growing pull. DP World Tour talent Richard Mansell, Joe Dean and rising star Daniel Gale lined up alongside tour legend Simon Dyson. They were joined by a glittering cast of sporting and entertainment celebrities including cricketers Glenn Maxwell and D’Arcy Short, footballers Stuart Dallas and Lee Sharpe, television personality Gaz Beadle, and rugby league’s Ryan Papenhuyzen, plus many of the UK’s leading influencers.
ROUND 1: THE SIX-HOLE BLITZ
The opening six-hole blitz set the tone, with Simon Dyson and local professional Nick McCarthy sharing the lead at two under par. Clutch closing birdies from Joe Dean and Richard Mansell ensured both made the cut and avoided the nearest-the-pin (NTP) playoff, while two late birdies from Ryan Papenhuyzen booked his place in the second round.
With the cut line falling at one over par, four players were forced into an NTP shootout for the final spot in Round 2. In a moment that brought the crowd to its feet, it was Blitz Golf mascot ‘Blitzy’ who prevailed — to rapturous applause.
ROUND 2: THE THREE-HOLE BLITZ
With the field trimmed and the scores reset, the three-hole blitz dialled up the pressure and the stars duly shone. Nick McCarthy produced something special, carding three birdies in three holes for a stunning three under par, while Daniel Gale signed for two under. A four-way playoff was needed to settle the last two qualifying spots, with Richard Mansell, Joe Dean, Simon Dyson and Georgia Oboh all level at one under. Mansell and Dean advanced with a pair of sensational shots from the Shootout Zone.
McCarthy’s blistering form had him five under cumulatively through nine holes — a Blitz Golf record through the two completed rounds. But with scores resetting after each round, the title would come down to a single, winner-takes-all shootout hole.
THE FINAL: ONE HOLE ON THE STADIUM HOLE
The grand finale on the iconic Stadium Hole delivered four fantastic shots from Gale, Dean, Mansell and McCarthy. Facing the 150-metre par three, Mansell struck his tee shot to around five feet to a massive roar from the gallery. After narrow misses from his rivals, he calmly stepped up and rolled in the birdie putt to claim victory — a well-deserved and hugely popular champion to crown the series’ historic England debut.

The success of the opening event marks an exciting new chapter for Blitz Golf as it expands beyond Australia. Combining elite professional talent, household names from across sport and entertainment, and a fast, fan-first format, the CaddyComps Blitz Golf England Series has announced its arrival in the UK in emphatic style.
